![]() Guys.started installing a Platinum Air ride tonight. I've got the wheel off and the stock shocks and splash guard removed. Calling it a night for now as I want to rethink a few things and watch a movie with the wife. How to wire and plumb the air suspension compressor on the tow assist kit F irst thing you wanna do is decide where you’re going to mount your airmaxxx air ride compressor. It’s a weather resistant air ride compressor so it can be mounted under your vehicle too. 1963-1972 Chevy C10 Platinum EZ Air Ride Suspension Kit. The Platinum air mounts the controls to a stainless plate that replaces the stock splash guard. I am thinking that on a Night train this is going to stick out like a sore thumb. Anyone done one of these with some pics of the bike from the side? I can always paint it but I was considering mounting the controls to the stock spash guard if it is possible. Also it is not very clear in the directions but the nut on the stud that goes through the front of the frame.does that nut thread all the way down or do you have to use a stop nut like the stock shock. The directions aren't very clear but a half ass diagram that comes with it shows the stud going through the frame and the front nut simply tightened all the way down. I don't know if I am describing it right.it's been a long day. Any thoughts? They should make black powder coat the standard option and if some insane lunatic wanted chrome or stainless they could spec it like that. Even on a chrome whore bike this plate would get completely covered up and nasty looking with road grime and you'd have no way really to clean it. ![]() Tx.do you have any pics of your bike from the side showing the wheel area? I am seriously considering taking my control unit off the stainless plate and mounting it to my stock guard. I will screw with it more tomorrow. Some more pics. Alright.got that fixed. It's kind of ugly and cramped but it's done. After stepping back and looking at this I don't think this kit fits an 07.at least the stainless plate that the controls mount to doesn't. There is physically no way to attach the top of the plate to the bike.only the two bottom screws where the stocker attach the same. I overcame the issue by removing the controls from the stainless plate and mounting them to the stock splashguard. They fit perfectly in the upper recess at the top of the guard. I don't see any downside to doing this. I am going to take a break and hit the grill and maybe even go see Silver Surfer but I will wrap it up tonight or tomorrow. I did take pictures so if someone else tackles this they can see what I did. I am interested to see what the company tech line says on Monday. You did a good job on that. Where did you end up installing the switches? Mine are on the side of the tank panel. Air Bag Suspension InstallationI don't really care for them being there. Maybe I'll change that this winter when I do a couple other mods. That's in progress. I am going to mount them on the horn cover. I am going to have them poking out the side facing the rear so they are barely noticable. I stuck em in the little bracket they give for now and screwed it to the horn stud simply because I was sick of messing with it. Password Please enter a password for your user account. EZ Air Ride Platinum-series Kits give you all the same high end parts the Deluxe and Classic Plus kits give you but with more of a focus on speed. EZ has designed this kit to offer the ability to drop and lift their ride faster with four exclusive EZ Air Ride electric valves rated at 280 PSI. Get to your desired stance fast with the 2-way Rocker Switchbox that features three momentary rocker switches for front, back and simultaneous front/back (pancake) control. All pressures can be monitored with the EZ GP2W single gauge panel featuring an exclusive domed glass, dual needle pressure gauge. When you put this together with their vehicle specific 'SET IT & FORGET IT' spring brackets, a Viair 444c Chrome Compressor, Four Air-Lift Dominator air bags, a 7-gallon air tank, and their custom designed fittings you will get that styling stance you've been looking for. The Platinum kit also includes EZ Shocks and a shock relocation kit to give your ride a little more stability. The Platinum Kit is a 2-way system design which means one switch controls the pressure in a pair of air bags. That means, on a typical vehicle with four airbags, you have one valve and air line for the two front airbags and only one valve and air line for the two rear airbags. ![]() Platinum Air Ride SuspensionWhile cornering, with a 2-way system, the airbag being compressed or 'loaded' will transfer and increase the air pressure to the opposite side air bag. This pressure transfer will 'lift' the side of the car on the inside of the turn, increasing body roll which greatly decreases handling characteristics. When using a 2-way system, it is strongly recommended that a sturdy front and rear sway bar (anti-roll bar) be used. EZ Air Ride kits are designed for easy installation with maximum drop. No major fabrication is involved; these kits are 100% bolt-on ready. Their kits come with top quality parts, ensuring the user the highest level of performance possible and are the most budget friendly in the industry.
